We are committed to being an open and affirming church where persons of all races, ages, abilities, and orientation are welcome into full participation in the life and mission of this congregation -- all are welcome! Please join us on Sunday Mornings for 10:45 AM Worship with child care.
During the summer we worship at 9:30 AM each Sunday and offer child care.
This service offers a traditional pattern of worship, including music, communion and a time of fellowship following the service. If you are seeking a worshiping community for people of all ages and walks of life, you will find a gracious welcome here.
Child care is available.
MUSIC MIISTRIES - Music is an important part of Methodist History. Charles Wesley is said to have written more than 6000 hymns!
Music is also an important part of the weekly services at First UMC. Our services typically include 2-3 hymns each week. The hymns range from “old favorites” to classical hymns to more contemporary music.
The ChancelChoir is a group of adults and youth who love to share their love of music and singing with this church. They sing every Sunday from September through June. The Chancel Choir rehearses on Thursday evenings from 7:00 pm until 8:30 pm.
We are always looking for others to share their musical gifts! There are no auditions and everyone is welcome! We provide “on the job” training, so you do not need to know how to read music. If you are interested in joining please feel free to stop in to one of our rehearsals.
The Hand Bell Choir is a group of folks who want to enhance the worship experience through bell playing. Some are new to hand bells, some have experience, some read music, some do not, but we all have fun.
The Hand Bell Choir plays about once a month and rehearse on Wednesday evenings at 6:15pm to 7pm. Come and join in on the fun, no previous experience is needed. Please contact Lisa if you have any questions about the Music Ministry!
YOUTH MINISTRIES - We are excited to have an active and vibrant youth group, working with youth in grade 6 thru grade 12. In addition to all the fun and games, we worship, pray, and support each other. All are welcome. The youth meet the 1st and 3rd Saturday from mid September through mid June. Should you have any questions feel free to contact Stacey through the church by calling 978-562-2932.
ADULT STUDIES - We are pleased to offer adult Bible study Wednesday mornings at 10:00am, in Lamson Hall at the church. This group meets each Wednesday from September 18th thru mid-June. Please call the church (978-562-2932) for any additional information.
CARING for CAREGIVERS MINISTRY - The church has recognized a real need to offer caregivers in our community support and a place to gether. This group is open to anyone who needs a break and wants to be with others going through the difficult time of caring for their loved ones. Our purpose is to offer a safe, quiet setting for those who are feeling the weight that often accompanies cargiving. Caregivers often feel alone, isolated and unique. We are unable to solve problems or change a situation but we will offer support to one another. We provide a place to talk, vent, cry, even laugh, or to simply be still.
Come share your concerns and feelings with those who know what you are going through. There is no judgement, only understanding and compassion. The meetings are open to anyone who is a caregiver. Please join us on the first and third Mondays of the month. We meet in the morning at 11:00am, for one hour in Lamson Hall located on the first floor of the church. We are handicap accessable. Please feel free to call the church 978-562-2932 with any questions.
